What We Believe

Our Statement of Faith
We believe in God, Creator of all things, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in Jesus Christ, true God and true man, born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as the sacrifice for our sins. We believe that He rose from the dead, ascended into heaven where, at the right hand of God, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.

We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit which was poured out on the Church at Pentecost in power, baptizing believers into the Body of Christ, and releasing the gifts of the Spirit to them. The Spirit brings the permanent indwelling presence of God to us for spiritual worship, personal sanctification, building up the Church, gifting us for ministry. The Spirit is a force against the powers of satan as we proclaim and do the works of Jesus.

We believe that the Holy Spirit inspired the human authors of Holy Scripture so that the Bible is without error in the original manuscripts. We receive both Old and New Testaments as our final absolute authority, the only infallible rule of faith and practice.

We believe in the power of the Gospel over the kingdom of darkness. We believe that the whole world is under the domination of satan and that all people are sinners by nature and choice. Through the preaching of the Good News of Jesus and the Kingdom of God and the work of the Holy Spirit, God regenerates, justifies, adopts and sanctifies through Jesus by the Spirit all who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. By this, they are released from satan’s domain and enter into God’s kingdom reign.

We believe that man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin and is, therefore, lost. We believe that salvation comes from God alone, through the power of the blood of Jesus and His resurrection. Only those who have received Jesus Christ as their Savior are born of the Holy Spirit, thus becoming children of God.

We believe in the one, holy, universal Church. All who repent of their sins and confess Jesus as Lord and Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and form the living Body of Christ. Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the church.

We believe that Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the Church: water baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Both are available to all believers.

We believe in the personal, imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ who will reign over the earth and bring forth the final defeat of satan and his works. We believe in this Hope of eternal life to come which has a personal impact on every believer. We believe in the judgment which is to come as well as the establishment of God’s Kingdom with a new heaven and a new earth in which He will forever be worshiped.

We believe in the existence of angels who worship God. We also believe in the existence of satan, a fallen being, who opposes God, God’s people, and God’s work. We believe Christians can have victory over satan and his demons through the power of the cross and the work of the Holy Spirit.
